Lumen (“Lumen”, “we”, “us”) is a document scanner app for Android. This policy explains, in plain language, how Lumen handles your information.
We don’t collect your data. Full stop.
Lumen has no accounts and no sign-up. It works completely offline. Your scans, documents and the text inside them stay on your device — we never see them, never upload them, and never sell them. We don’t use ads, analytics or trackers.
Nothing. Lumen does not collect, transmit or store any personal information on our servers. We don’t have servers that hold your data, and we don’t ask you to create an account or give us your name, email or phone number to use the app.
Everything you scan stays on your device, in Lumen’s private storage. Only you have access to it. We cannot see your documents, and they are never sent to us or to anyone else — unless you decide to share or export a file using your phone’s normal share options (for example, sending a PDF by email or saving it to your files). When you do that, you’re in control of where it goes.
If you ever want to remove your documents, you can delete them inside the app or simply uninstall Lumen, which removes them from your device.
Lumen only requests permissions that are needed for scanning, and it uses them only on your device:
We do not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, call logs or messages.
Some of Lumen’s smarter features run entirely on your phone, not on the internet:
Lumen offers an optional Lumen Pro upgrade. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment — we never see or store your card number or billing details. Google’s handling of that transaction is covered by Google’s own privacy policy.
Lumen contains no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no tracking tools. We don’t build a profile of you, and there are no hidden software kits collecting your activity. The app stores a few ordinary settings (like your theme choice) locally on your device to remember your preferences — this information never leaves your phone.
Because we don’t collect your information, there is nothing for us to share or sell. We do not share personal data with third parties, advertisers or data brokers.
Lumen is a general-purpose productivity app and is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children.
If we ever change how Lumen works in a way that affects your privacy, we’ll update this policy and change the “Last updated” date above. If the change is significant, we’ll do our best to make it clearly visible.
