FORMA Studio (the “App”) is a native Android app for creating and editing mind maps, flowcharts, decision trees, concept diagrams and project plans. This policy describes the behavior of the source-code release supplied with this website. The App is designed to work offline; online imports are optional.
1. Data we collect
The App does not send your project contents, notes, names or device identifiers to a developer-operated server. The supplied release contains no developer analytics, advertising SDK, account registration or subscription service. The developer does not receive your diagrams merely because you use the App.
2. Local storage
Projects, graph nodes, annotations, preferences and editing history are processed locally. Saved projects are stored in the App's private device storage. Shareable exports may be written to a folder you choose using Android's system file picker, or temporarily into the App's cache for sharing. The App explicitly disables Android Auto Backup for its app-private data.
3. Files opened from your device or cloud providers
When you choose to open a file, Android's document picker may give the App access to the specific file you selected. If you select a file from a third-party cloud provider, that provider may process the file according to its own privacy policy. The App reads the selected document to import it into a new local project. It does not silently scan your photo library or other files.
4. Optional HTTPS URL import
If you choose to import a file from an HTTPS URL, the App contacts that URL to retrieve the requested file. The destination website and relevant network providers may receive information ordinarily disclosed by a network request, such as your IP address, and may have their own logging practices. The App does not upload your existing project as part of this import. URL imports are never required to use the offline editor.
5. Sharing and exporting
When you share a diagram, Android allows you to choose another app or service to receive an exported copy. That recipient may process the shared content under its own policies. FORMA has no control over how a recipient handles files after you choose to share them.
6. Permissions
The App requests Android's INTERNET permission only for optional HTTPS imports. It uses the Android Storage Access Framework to open and save selected documents without requesting unrestricted storage access. It does not request location, contacts, microphone, camera or notification permissions.
7. Retention and deletion
Local project copies remain on your device until you delete them from the App or uninstall it. Exported files may remain in the locations or recipient apps you selected after removal from FORMA. You can delete an individual project from its menu. Clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it removes its private local data, subject to device behavior and any copies you created elsewhere.
8. Children's privacy
The App does not request an account or deliberately collect personal information from children. Do not place sensitive personal information in files that you choose to share with other apps or publish online.
9. Security
App-private storage and the operating system's document access controls help limit access to local files. No software can guarantee perfect security; maintain independent backups of important diagrams. This policy does not cover security practices of third-party document providers, recipients or websites you explicitly access.
10. Changes to this policy
If future versions add accounts, analytics, cloud sync, advertising or other data handling, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration must be revised before that release. This website will publish the updated policy and its effective date.
