PRIVACY,
PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
Cutline Studio is a photo editor for Android. You can remove backgrounds, make edits and save pictures. Here is what happens to your photos when you use it.
Where do my photos go?
When you edit a picture, the app does the work on your phone. We do not have a server that receives your pictures for background removal. You do not have to create an account.
If you choose to open a photo from an online folder or paste a link to a picture, your phone will connect to that service to get the file. That service may see that you visited it, just as it would when you open its website.
What gets saved?
Your photos and changes can be kept on your phone while you work. If you choose to save an editable project, the app keeps a copy in its own private space on your phone. It keeps up to eight saved projects; saving more can remove older ones. The app may reopen your most recent saved project when you return.
When you save a finished picture to your Photos or Files, it goes to the location you choose. The app also keeps some temporary files to take pictures, open pictures from links and prepare pictures for sharing. Shared copies are normally cleared when they are more than two days old; your phone may clear them earlier.
Can I delete my pictures?
Yes. You can delete individual saved projects from the Projects screen, or use Settings to delete all saved projects inside the app. This does not delete finished pictures you saved to Photos, Files or another app. Delete those where you saved them. Uninstalling Cutline Studio removes its private projects and temporary files from your phone, subject to your phone's own backup settings.
When is a picture shared?
Only when you choose to share it or save it somewhere outside the app. If you share a picture with a messaging app, online folder or another service, that service may store it according to its own privacy rules. You can also make a before-and-after picture to share, but the app does not post it for you.
Does the app collect personal information?
This version has no accounts, adverts or built-in usage tracking. We do not receive your photos or collect personal information through the app. The app asks Android to let you choose the pictures and locations you want to use. If you choose to take a picture, a camera app on your phone handles the camera.
Does it need the internet?
No connection is needed to remove backgrounds or edit pictures after the app is installed. You only need a connection if you choose a picture from a website or an online storage service, or share a photo through a service that uses the internet.
What about this website?
This website has no adverts or visitor tracking added by us. It is hosted by GitHub, which may handle basic information needed to show you the page. You can read GitHub's privacy statement for more information.
Will this policy change?
We may update it if the app changes. The date above will show when this page was last updated. If future versions change how photos or personal information are handled, we will update this page and the app's store information.
